 Select an activity related to one of the topics from “Topics and resources”. You will have to explain your selection.

 We select the activity about the animals that it's called Snap. This activity for children consist in press the correct animal photo and they hear its name. In our opinion, this activity is very useful for children when they are learning the animals as they associate the name of the animals with the photo and this help them to develop listening and pronunciation. Moreover, it is a fun and attractive way to learn the animals.


On the slides  “Best practices for teaching English to young learners” you may find information about the different routines (slides 63 to 80). Please,  classify “Classroom language: a list of expressions” into these routines following the examples on the slides.

Start of class or activity

  • Good morning, class!
  • How is everyone today? 
  • Class, what is today´s date?
  • What day is it today?

Attention getters

  • 1-2-3 eyes on me!
  • When I say dog, you say cat!

Brain breaks 

  • Seat running: sit and run 
  • Close your eyes and breathe in, breathe out

End of class or activity 

  • I love English
  • You were wonderful!
  • See you next class!

    It is important to add pictures so that you help the reader to better understand.
    Careful with English:
    -consists in ...
    -hear its name
    -this helps them

1. Print Motivation Being excited about and interested in books. For example,  books have sound of different animals, because animals is interesting topic for children. 2.
